What we assess before a ducted conversion
Heat load
Room sizes, glazing, orientation and insulation inform the required capacity.
Duct network
Existing duct condition is assessed; new duct sizing is designed around airflow and static pressure.
Return air
The return path must support the system airflow without excessive noise or restriction.
Zoning
Zone design considers minimum airflow and how the household actually uses the home.
Electrical supply
Circuit, isolator, protection and switchboard capacity are checked before installation.
Gas decommissioning
The old system and relevant VEU evidence requirements are coordinated as part of the scope.
2026
VEU heating & cooling rules are changing
Victoria has announced changes from 30 September 2026, including a $3,000 minimum co-payment (including GST) for ducted reverse-cycle and multi-split systems with cooling capacity of 10 kW or more, plus a residential multi-split incentive cap. We confirm the rules and rebate value that apply on the date of your installation.
