VEU upgrades, explained clearly.
Start with the equipment you have now. We check the eligible pathway, design the new heating, cooling or hot-water system properly, and coordinate the installation requirements and VEU evidence from the beginning.

Four simple places to find what you need
The VEU section is deliberately kept compact so you can find the right information without working through a long list of nearly identical pages.
Air Conditioning
Compare the two main ducted-gas replacement layouts we assess: ducted reverse cycle and multi-split.

Rebate values, system sizing, old-equipment removal, paperwork and other questions customers commonly ask.
Read the FAQs →Two main ducted-gas replacement layouts
Rather than presenting several overlapping “multi-room” options, we group the design into two clear system families and work out which one suits the property.

Ducted gas heater → Daikin ducted
Central reverse-cycle heating and cooling with designed ductwork, return air and zoning where suitable.

Ducted gas heater → Daikin multi-split
Multiple indoor units connected to compatible outdoor equipment for individual room control and less external clutter.

These are Victorian Government examples, not guaranteed cash rebates. The actual value depends on the existing appliance, approved replacement, capacity, certificate value and rules applying at installation.
| Existing equipment | Example upgrade | Indicative discount |
|---|---|---|
| Ducted gas heater | 10 kW ducted reverse-cycle AC | Up to $2,520 |
| Ducted gas heater | 16 kW ducted reverse-cycle AC | Up to $4,200 |
| Ducted gas heater | 22.4 kW ducted reverse-cycle AC | Up to $5,530 |
| Ducted gas heater | 10 kW multi-split outdoor unit | Up to $2,940 |
| Inefficient electric hot water | Eligible heat-pump hot water | Up to $630 |
| Gas hot water | Eligible heat-pump hot water | Up to $560 |
2026
VEU heating & cooling rules are changing
Victoria has announced changes from 30 September 2026, including a $3,000 minimum co-payment (including GST) for ducted reverse-cycle and multi-split systems with cooling capacity of 10 kW or more, plus a residential multi-split incentive cap. We confirm the rules and rebate value that apply on the date of your installation.
Eligibility, design and documentation in the right order
1. Property details
Address, existing equipment, photos and model information where available.
2. Eligibility check
We confirm the likely activity and suitable approved-product route before relying on a rebate figure.
3. System design
Capacity, airflow, switchboard, decommissioning, pipe routes, access, drainage and noise are considered.
4. Written quote
Equipment, installation scope, assumptions and estimated VEU discount are shown clearly.
5. Install & evidence
Licensed trades complete installation, commissioning, compliance and required VEU evidence.
